Book Review - The Last Day of My Life

Recently I was asked to review a new book by Inside Edition Anchor Jim Moret. I have been impressed by the passion and integrity that Mr. Moret brings to his work in the past but to be honest I really did not know anything specifically about his life.

Needless to say I was surprised at the very in depth look at the depth of depression that he struggled with. This book opened my eyes and I know it will do the same to you. The book was inspiring and helped me understand that even the people that seem to have everything all together can struggle with one's past and present.

Moret explains all of the things that he had to answer for himself to pull himself back from the brink of the abyss to reclaim his work life as well as his life with his family. Moret states that in writing this book:
"This was by far the toughest interview of my life," states Moret. "Asking myself these questions posed the most difficult, yet rewarding endeavor of not only my career, but my life."

Moret provides practical wisdom that makes you truly understand what is important in life. The book, while short (compact) packs a wallop in the 27 chapters and 150 pages.

Not only does the book provide inspiration, it also provides insight and background on some of Moret's most well known interviews.

One of the pieces that I liked was at he end of the book where he talks about purpose and the mantra (his Ten C's) that he recites daily which include:

Calm
Cool
Connected
Compassionate
Charming
Creative
Comical
Curious
Confident
Centered

This list lade me start thinking about what my mantra list would be. While I haven't come up with my own list yet, I have decided to try and come up with one that will become a part of my own routine.

Moret becomes something of a mentor to his readers if they open their ears. I would recommend this inspiring read for anyone going through difficulty or needing motivation within their own life. MOret will give you a way to look at your own existence in a new way.
